"Fifty-five percent of Syrians do not want President Basher Al Assad to step down immediately, shows an opinion poll commissioned by the Doha Debates.
One of the main reasons given by those wanting the president to stay in power was fear for the future of the country. An overwhelming majority of the Arabs- 81 per cent- from other Middle Eastern countries, however, believe Basher al-Assad should resign in the wake of the regime’s brutal treatment of protesters." I don't understand this poll. I doubt that the poll was conducted in Syria under the current conditions. The article says that it was a poll of Arabs: does that mean that the Syrians polled resided outside of Syria? Was Cicero polled?
