Doomed

"With rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear program fanning Iranian fury toward IsraelEhud Barak, the Israeli minister of defense, said that if the country was forced into a war, the casualties on the home front would not likely amount to more than 500, if that many, and that the state of Israel would not be destroyed."  Read that statement again.  What I love about it is that there is an implicit recognition that this state--which indeed has the strongest army now--is still very precarious.  I mean, no one talks about the possible destruction even of Lebanon.  What does that mean? It mean one thing and one thing alone: Israel's years are numbered and there is nothing that US Congress can do to reverse that inevitability.
