Syrian opposition meeting in Istanbul

So you know how I feel about this lousy Ikhwan meeting, sponsored by Qatar and Turkey.  But when I saw representative of the `asha'ir (tribes or clans) I was quite nauseous.  I don't understand how anyone working for civil government in the 21st century can even tolerate the invitation of tribal elders.  Is the civil project not supposed to eradicate the entire basis of tribal and clannish structure?  When I see those lousy men, I want to snatch the head dress off their head, and yell "honor" in their years.  Send them to a previous century (wait, the 20th century is too modern for them: OK, send them three or four centuries back).
