So I was listening to BBC News while driving and heard colleague, Marc Lynch analyze Yemen--for some--reason. Among the things he said is that it is important that Gulf regimes "help" steer the democratic transition in Yemen. I kid you not. There is as much sense and wisdom in that statement as there is in the suggestion that Bashshar Al-Asad should serve as director of Amnesty International. Above, a picture of Saudi King with Saleh (he presumably was helping him steer democracy in Yemen). The picture was taken when Saleh's armed goons were massacring demonstrators yesterday.
