US and its stance on dialogue in Arab countries

Every facet of US foreign policy in the Middle East (not to speak of other regions) smacks of hypocrisy, duplicity, and tripple-standards.  So the US is enthusiastic about the fake royal dialogue in Bahrain and even called on Bahraini opposition to participate.  Yet, the US ambassador in Syria yesterday joined in protest that was billed as "the no-to-dialogue Friday".   Very telling.

PS Personally, I am against dialogue with the Bahraini regime or the Syrian regime.  I support the call by the Syrian (and leftist Bahraini) opposition to boycott the fake dialogue sessions.  The demands should focus on the overthrow of the regime.
