Steve Simon: the new NSC Middle East director

I posted yesterday about Steve Simon: the new director of the Middle East at the NSC in the White House.  A source in Washington, DC tells me that Simon when he was going to visit Lebanon in the fall of 2009, was planning on meeting with Hizbullah officials and even made contacts to arrange for such meetings but then panicked at the last minute and  feared losing his security clearance.
