The inside Qatar source added: "Israel has no LNG Receiving Terminal yet, and they cost about $2 billion to construct, and they have not even started, so this all conjecture and rumor. I can tell you it has been discussed for over 10 years, and nothing has happened. But now Israel is desperate, since the pipeline from Egypt has been blown up twice, so they are looking at ways to get LNG, Qatar is the most logical supplier, but if it happens it will be a straight business transaction, with only marginal thought towards politics. Egypt has already broken the mold on selling natural gas to Israel, and they are selling it for $3 per mmbtu, the Qataris wouldnt sell it for less than $10 now. Also Israel has a "representative office" in Qatar right now, that does get shut down every time the Israeli's piss them off, but there has been a smoldering relationship for a long time now."
