Mufti of Lebanon

The Mufti of Lebanon is one of those clerics who issues fatwas for a fee. He is one of the most corrupt clerics in Lebanon. He is not respected for his knowledge (he has none), but was bought off by the ill-cited Rafiq Hariri and he used him to lobby against secularization of the personal status laws in Lebanon. He is close to the Mubarak regime (but not as close as he is to Prince Nayif in Saudi Arabia), so he has not said one word about what is happening in Egypt. You know what he did this week? He sent a delegation to the Danish embassy to protest against the publication of a book of Danish cartoons that insulted Muhammad. That is the priority of this corrupt cleric.
