Dignity of the Gulf protectorates

"It is too early to tell how the Tunisian uprising will turn out, but in the meantime, it is the Arab monarchies that are offering young Arabs an opportunity to live in dignity without leaving the region, and hope for a better life."  Oh, yes.  Nothing like the dignity of the polygamous dynasties and their complete subservience first to the British Empire and second to the US Empire.  Nothing like the dignity of citizens in countries that ruling families decide for the entire population without the shred of consultation.  Nothing like the dignity of citizens in countries with public beheadings and religious laws from medieval times.  If this is dignity, I want none of it.
