Hizbullah and Homophobia

Comrade Khalid, the editor-in-chief of Al-Akhbar, courageously asks Hizbullah to reconsider its stance toward homosexuals. Having said that--and I argued this in an article on the subject back in 1993 in Arab Studies Journal (the 1st issue)--Islamic fundamentalists don't have the Western Christian fundamentalist obsession with hatred against gays and lesbians, although some Western-influenced Islamists rail against homosexuals. But Hizbullah certainly does not have an enlightened position on the subject. (thanks Wassim)
