The cruelty of the Dubai government

"Jaubert said he heard whispers about Dubai's darker side -- the abuse of desperate laborers from impoverished Asian lands, the jailing of the occasional Westerner who crossed a sheik -- but "I brushed it all off. I saw glamour. I saw marble columns, mirrors and money."" Of course, he brushed it off. The abuse was not targeting the White Man. And notice that this article is only concerned with the abuse of the White Man (and one Lebanese). Abuse of Asian workers went on unabated even during Dubai's glory years, but the Washington Post did not bother to cover.
