Successors to Ahmad Shuqayri

When I watch Abu Mazen And Dahlan types on TV, I imagine what it must have been for Ahmad Shuqayri after the 1967 defeat. They appear as irrelevant as he must have been after the defeat. To be fair: Shuqayri had excellent writing and oratorical skills that none of the Dahlan gangsters have. And why does Sa`ib `Urayqat (who tells members of his family that he will president one day of the Palestinian state--a member told me) become more buffoonish uder stress?
