I was most disappointed to read the words of Lebanese MP, Usamah Sa`d, in an event commemorating the anniversary of Hafidh Al-Asad's death. Sa`d was distant from the Syrian regime during its years of domination, and it is rather odd that he would now express such fawning views of Hafidh Al-Asad. I am sure he remembers that Syrian tank in Sidon which was hit when the Syrian army intervened to squash the Lebanese National Movement and the Palestinian resistance movement in 1976.
