The highest state Shi`ite cleric in Lebanon, `Abdul-Amir Qabalan (head of the Supreme Shi`ite Council--I wish somebody in Lebanon would form the Highest Atheist and Zandaqah Council in Lebanon) spoke: and as we say in Arabic, we wish that he stayed silent. In south Lebanon, people used to say about him (when he was the Ja`farite Mufti of the republic) that you can buy a fatwawawa from him by a dish of Frakah. He said that is important that the Ministry of Finance in Lebanon remains in Shi`ite hands. The country is on the brink of civil war and this is what occupies the minds of Hummus clerics.
