Turkish people and Leventine Arabs really are indistinguishable in appearance (and in mannerisms). Since I arrived, I have to say "I don't speak Turksih" several times per hour. People keep talking to me in Turkish. Stop that NOW. There is a funny speech patter among Turks: they tend to use the question mark tone at end of sentence sometimes. That tone can come across as sarcastic for an Arabic ear.
