Nir Rosen recommended that I eat at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. So Junaid took me there yesterday. It was splendid. The food was great: a combination of Western and Pakistani food (I only ate Pakistani: I never eat Western food when I travel in the Middle East). And it is so much less expensive than say Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut. I noticed a couple of Lebanese appetizers at the buffet table, but I ignored them. There is a Pakistani bread that I have never seen in Pakistani restaurants in UK or US. I forgot what it is called (round), but I prefer Naan.
