An Arab, between East and West. I thought it was ironic today. I gave a talk at the Institute for Policy Studies today. During the talk, I expressed my opposition to suicide bombings. I was (politely) challenged by two members of the audience about that: they were not pleased that I was categorically opposed to suicide bombings. And that made me think: in the West, I am expected to express my condemnation of suicide bombing four times a day. And here, I was made to feel that I was being castigated for opposing suicide bombings.
