Here, Walid Jumblat in August 2002, defends the Syrian regime and criticizes those who go to Washington, DC and meet with Rumsfeld (a swife at his current ally, Amin Gemayyel). Jumblat also criticized those who want to impose a UN trusteeship on Lebanon. Jumblat added: "President Hafidh Al-Asad is the first to recognize the Lebanese entity, and Dr. Bashshar Al-Asad paid an official visit to Lebanon, and redeployed his troops in two phases..."
