The Lebanese Communist Party. It never misses an opportunity to prove its irrelevance and obsoleteness. Yet again, they watch as events that require their attention and participation, unfold before their eyes and they look the other way. During the Cold War, the Lebanese Communist Party (which never appealed to me even when I was a Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist) adhered to dogmatic Soviet Stalinism. After the Cold War, the Party has been dancing around repugnant, wishy-washy liberalism. Khalid Hdadah took to the podium the other day, only to offer patriotic salutations to the Lebanese Army as it was indiscriminately shelling the refugee camps of Lebanon. Talking about ridiculous statements: Hizbullah Shura Council member, Shaykh Muhammad Yazbak, said that the "what is happening in the North makes the heart bleed." This statement is as profound as Fatfatist aphorisms.
