"Brazilians like to say that the beach is their country’s “most democratic space.” But some bodies — and some beaches — are more equal than others." I can see why the New York Times is outraged at this class inequality. After all, in the US (land of the free and (historic) home of the slaves) rich people and poor people go to the same restaurants, dance at the same clubs, swim at the same beaches, and live in the same neighborhoods. Oh, yeah. You did not know that?
