I have no respect for Arab parliaments. But I have particular contempt for the Jordanian parliament. You watch their debates, and you hear loud, bombastic bluster in favor of Saddam, but they get so mild-mannered and reverential when they speak about their king. They object to Iranian "cooperation" with the US in Iraq, but say not one word about Jordanian cooperation with the US everwhere. Today, I saw Mahmud Kharabshah (former head of the Jordanian intelligene apparatus--I debated him on Al-Jazeera in my first appearance--see transcript below) and he referred to Saddam as "the hero."
