The Dilemma of Ayatullah Muhammad Husayn Fadlallah. A friend made an observation about Ayatullah Muhammad Husayn Fadlallah. This Shi`ite cleric changed in the 1990s, and clashed with Iran and Hizbullah. He distanced himself from Wilayat Al-Faqih, and issued many controversial rulings which included a permission of female masturbation. Israeli bombings of Lebanon (and of his house and his institutions) have changed him, completely. He now sounds more militant than Hizbullah. Yesterday, he said that those who talk about disarming Hizbullah are committing "high treason." I really believe that Israeli Orientalists mistakenly did not know that Fadlallah had become distant from Hizbullah.
