I have no doubt that American leftists would object even if Arabs were to throw rice and flowers on their brutal Israeli occupiers. The security council would probably meet over such an incidence, and the New York Times would carry a front page picture with an accompanying article about an Israeli who suffered from a piece of rice that hurt him on his face when it landed. Such are the standards of the left in the West. American leftists are more outraged over the sight of a veiled Muslim woman than they are over the destruction of a country.
