Ash-sharq al-awsat bragged today that it was the "only Arabic newspaper" allowed during Bush's speech yesterday. I wonder why. It must be the "professionalism" of the paper that so impressed Bush, and his Center for Defense of Autocracies before which he spoke. Talking abou Saudi Arabia, Saudi media are throwing a fit because of the memoirs of former King Faysal advisor, Ma`ruf Ad-Dawalibi. He divulged too much about Saudi globalized war for Islamic fanaticism (and dawalibi, a fanatic himself, should know) during the Cold War years. More on that later. Remind me.
