What bothers me about Lebanon--among 10,000 other things--is the political pretentions and presumptions of the clerical establishments, namely the Shi`ite, the Sunni, and the Maronite. Do you know that the clerical councils of the three sects meet regularly and issue statements and declarations commenting on global affairs from Somalia to Indonesia.
