Ideological nostalgia. In the 1970s and early 1980s, village politics in South Lebanon was most interesting. The village would have so many political parties and organizations represented, Lebanese and Palestinian. All were secular, and many were communist. And now you go to South Lebanon, and politics is reduced to Amal-Hizbullah.
