I was listening to the words of Walid Jumblat in Al-Istihqaq. These were strong sectarian words, for sure. But he was right about one thing: his criticisms of the inconsistent position of Hizbullah, especially in its silence on the US occupation of Iraq. As long as Hizbullah seems to facilitate the cause of the ruling sectarian Shi`ite parties in Iraq, it can be justifiably accused of sectarian and opportunist calculations. Hizbullah, for sectarian reasons, has become--at least indirectly--an ally of US occupation.
