Protests in Russia versus protests in Western countries

Notice that when protests occur and are repressed in Russia, they are treated in Western media as a sign of repression and brutality. But when protests occur and are repressed in Western countries, they are treated as a sign of lively democracy. You may ask: am I making an analogy between the lousy Russian regime and Western democracies? You bet I am.
