This US correspondent is ashamed that his government did not dump more arms in Syria for the benefits of rebels

"Ambassador Power is right to ask about shame. Ultimately, a great share of it will belong to her government and the other fair-weather “friends of Syria” who supported the country’s revolution only half-heartedly — enough to prolong it while also sealing its failure."  American foreign correspondents are at their worst when they feign sentimentality.
