By far, the dumbest reason for why people join Al-Qa`idah

I am not surprised that it is coming from an expert at WINEP: "“There are some individuals that are drawn to Al Qaeda because they are disappointed with the West and American policy in Syria,” says Fabrice Balanche, Syria expert and visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. "  Imagine if someone in a Western country and appears before a court on charges of membership in Al-Qa`idah, and I can imagine his lawyer making the argument: that my client joined Al-Qa`idah because he was very disappointed in Western and US foreign policy.  Fabrice: 99% of Arabs are disappointed with US and Western policies and fortunately they don't join Al-Qa`idah.  So fortunately, your theory is fallacious.
