No matter how much they kill and repress, they insist on preserving the fake veneer of elections.  It is essential for Ba`thist dictatorships in Syria and Iraq to preserve the theatrics of elections.  But this as Al-Akhbar reports, the regime is having a hard time selling the rotten product of elections.
