Percentage of Shi`ites among Muslims

Have people noticed that in the last week, since the Saudi government executed Shaykh Nimr, Western media have been steadily understating the percentage of Shi`ites among Muslims? It has gone down in one week from 15% to 6% and 5%.  With more PR expenditure by Muhammad bin Salman, it expect the percentage to go down to 1%.
