Execution of Saddam Husayn and the sectarian war in the Middle East

Regarding this article: look, there is no question that Iraq has been ruled by a corrupt sectarian Shi`ite gang splitting its loyalty between the US and Iran, but the notion that the execution of Saddam (whose crimes never discriminated along sectarian lines and whose victims belong to every sect of Iraq) was the reason why the region is suffering from a sectarian war is rather silly.  The execution of Saddam because one of many weapons used by the Saudi regime in its campaign of sectarian agitation and mobilization.  Saudi regime demonized Saddam when the US asked it to do prior to the invasion, and later resurrected Saddam to use it against Iran and Shi`ites in the region.
