Banning of the Islam religion

It has been found that a significant portion of Republican voters in US states support a ban on the Islamic religion. Can you imagine the domestic and international uproar of if this intolerance is directed against the Jewish religion? Where is the outrage? Where are America's intellectuals? This warrants a collective J'accuse.
