Vulgar and crude non-art of political cartoons

I can't believe that Syrian cartoonist, Ali Farzat (who used to be one of the most sophisticated artists in the Arab world) would resort to this crude and vulgar level of bathroom humor in his drawings now.  What has Syrian war done to some people?
