Christian lawmakers in Poland argued agianst a law for domestic violence: does that mean we need a reform movement within Christianity?

"Many right-wing and Roman Catholic lawmakers said some of the regulations undermined Poland’s traditional roles for mothers and fathers."  If those were Muslims, this would have been on the front pages, and Bill Maher would host a special on the matter.
