This is a huge event. Yemen has been basically a military-intelligence base for the US and Saudi Arabia (and consequently for Israel) for the duration of the rule of Ali Abdullah-Salih. The Saudi puppet who succeeded him even made the place more subservient to US-Saudi interests. I detest the Huthi movement but the impact of the change can't be underestimated. The Saudi royal family has always considered Yemen to be its backyard and consistently went to war to prevent Yemen from drifting away from his direct hegemony. This is very big and creates a base for Iranian influence, and for the influence of Hizbullah, right at the border with Saudi Arabia.
