Review of The Interview

As Michele can attest, I like some stupid movies and have been known to enjoy them. But for political reasons, I had to watch Sony's The Interview.  Michele refused to watch it, so I had to watch it by myself.  I have to say that while it is quite stupid, and while it confirmed to me that Seth Rogen's best career moves and movies are well behind him, I laughed at a few jokes and situations and was not bored.  Politically it is as stupid as you find in serious and non-serious US movies.  James Franco or Franki or Franka was actually not bad, but the funniest people in the movie were those who played the roles of Kim Jong-Un and his chief of security.  But the movie suffered terribly from sophomoric obsession with sexist and homophobic jokes and many racist jokes against Asian people.  The movie unintentionally effectively mocked the dubious distinction in the US between serious and sensational news media.
