Lebanese media elite

Hoping to impress the white man at Western embassies in Beirut, the "prominent" elements of the Lebanese media held a protest in solidarity with Paris in downtown Beirut.  They were accompanied--I KID YOU NOT--with the Saudi ambassador in Beirut, days after the public flogging of a Saudi liberal.  Does that scene not summarize the whole bankruptcy of the dominant media and intellectual class in Lebanon?
