UN panel on Human Rights: are they kidding?

"A United Nations human rights panel urged Sri Lanka on Friday to repeal a constitutional amendment that critics say gives the country’s president too much power."  Did they ever protest the absolute powers of Arab monarchs? Or is picking on a poor country without oil and gas much easier, and much more consistent with US-Israeli policies?
