Look how the New York Times characterized criticisms of Israel

"a growing number of critics, including Israel’s European allies and United Nations officials, have accused Israel of using disproportionate force to achieve its objectives."  Excuse me?? Critics of Israel--like myself--have only accused Israel of "using disproportionate force to achieve its objective"?  This sounds like flirtation and not criticisms. It seems to me the criticisms were that Israel committed war crimes and perpetrated massacres on a civilian population.  The New York Times is free to "tidy up" its own language about Israel but it can't do that to the language of its critics and opponents.
