Arab proverbs

From Rashid: "Regarding the saying you mentioned in one of your yesterday's posts (the mountain went into labor and gave birth to a mouse) is, in my opinion, a French one ("la montagne qui accouche d'une souris"). We, in Morocco, we use the following saying (approximate translation): "the funeral was noisy while the dead was a rat" - al janaza hamia (hot) wa al mayyit fa'r. I assume other similar sayings exist in the other Arab countries."
