Hell cannons in the Syrian war

I posted about "Artillery of hell" a few days ago, here and on FB.  British-Lebanese journalists, Hala Jaber, added this:  "Asad in English they are known as Hell Canons and it's how we all refer to them in reports. They are random, like barrel bombs, their range is range about 1-1.5 km, not precise and usally packed with some explosives and other bits. But they are not Burkans at all, which are another ball game and not in rebel hands...and here is a compilation of videos also prepared by Moses on hell cannons in use :"

Comrade Amer added this (in Arabic): (They are indeed gas canisters, but I don't know if they fill them with explosives in some cases (if I were in their shoes, I would have done that), and they are installed on missile launcher--like Grad--instead of the usual war head, so as to achieve bigger explosion impact in return for less range and accuracy but works in urban war.  By the way, the other side has a similar weapon but at a much bigger scale, whereby they install a giant war head in the shape of a barrel (weighing hundreds of kilograms) on a rocket launcher, and some have cluster heads, and are very effective in short range".
