"Fighters riding ATVs kicked up dust and small stones as they roared up freshly made tracks on the mountain slopes on either side of the pass, presumably to more military positions."   He may not be a reliable or credible or professional reporter but no one presumes better than him.  No one, I tell you.  (thanks Basim)
