Yes-or-no votes

You know what bothers me? Here you are supposed to ask me: what bothers you, o wise one? Is the way Western media mock countries where they have yes-or-no votes.  Are you kidding? Aren't most votes in the US of the genre of yes-or-no? Which votes in the US is not Republican or Democrat, which is the same as yes-or-no vote.
