Contrary to the lazy cliched accounts in Western media (see Anne Barnard today, yesterday, and tomorrow) where it is parroted that "Syrian uprising only turned violent after repression by the regime" (which is mystery to me: do they mean that the Bin Ladenites in Syria were peaceful protesters but after repression by the regime they turned violent?), this is a full account of the early rise of armed groups in Syria. Too bad the Western correspondents in Beirut don't read Arabic and too bad they rely exclusively on Now Hariri and such media to follow what is happening in Syria.
