Putin in the Arab world

In all Western writings about the image of Russia in the Arab world and the standing of Putin there is one discernible trend: there is an assumption that Saudi royal family speaks for the Arab youth. In reality, you would be surprised: there are many young Arabs who have been expressing admiration for Putin for standing up to the US, just as there are pro-Saudi Salafites and Hariri liberals who regard the Western stake in the Ukraine as their own.  It is always wrong when one assumes that there is only one point of view among Arabs.  The picture is always more complicated although your vision is distorted by Gulf oil and gas.
