Free Syrian Army groupies among Western correspondents in Beirut; the journalism methods of Liz Sly

Look at this front page article by Liz Sly and how it is documented:  "according to analysts and people familiar with the thinking of the regime."  So I waited to see who is she going to cite for this and I came across:  "said Salem Zahran, a Damascus-based journalist and analyst with close ties to the Syrian regime."  In fact, he is Beirut-based advocate for groups that are loyal to the Syrian regime in Lebanon.  But don't get me wrong: the article, containing more calls to arms for the Syrian rebels ("A significant shift in U.S. policy in favor of more robust support to the rebels could yet tilt the balance of power on the ground, analysts say.") also contains the sophisticated analysis that one expects when one reads Liz Sly: "“three years of [US] Syrian diplomacy has gone down the toilet,”".  Imbedded in her article is seething anger at the US for not arming and supporting her rebels in Syria.
