When America judges Russia

"World War II is a sacred subject in Russia, where it is known as the Great Patriotic War. It’s not a topic that invites examination, skepticism or counterfactuals."  And WWII is NOT a sacred subject in the US, where any questioning of the decision to throw nuclear bombs on Japan is considered unpatriotic?  I have never seen a media culture that is less critical (except on trivial matters like personal scandals of politicians) than the US media culture.  This is a country in which media are willing to write series of articles about a rape case in India, when rape within the US military is ignored.
