Global Thought Leaders

One of the worst features of Lebanese and American cultures is the obsession with ranking: the most beautiful, the most important, the most adorable, etc.  It is one of the symptoms of the competitiveness of capitalism.  Here is a list of "global" thinkers. 1) Al Gore is number one.  That in itself should discredit the whole list.  2) Thomas Friedman is on the list. 3) there is one Arab on the list: Mr. Ali Allawi.  I am willing to cut off my big toe if a mere 1% of Arabs have ever heard of the man.  I mean, sure he served as a puppet defense minister for US occupation of Iraq, but still.
